Edward Adelson, a notable physicist, educator and musician, was born Aug. 19, 1934, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He passed away on Oct. 22, 2022.

He earned his BA from New York University in 1956, was a Postgraduate Woodrow Wilson Fellow at the Eastman School of Music in 1957 and achieved his Master of Science degree in 1965 and Ph.D. in physics in 1974 from The Ohio State University. The OSU physics department hired him as lecturer and academic program specialist. He authored the textbook “Get Ready for Physics”.

Ed wrote poetry and was an expert in puns. He loved playing his baby grand piano, supporting the arts and dining in fine restaurants. He traveled throughout his life. Ed stayed connected with family, friends, colleagues and neighbors, and was always caring, gracious, generous and kind.
