Eleanor S. Block, 80, of Hilliard, passed away peacefully Jan. 21, 2021, at home. She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Wallace; grandsons, Steven Block and Trevor Wallace; granddaughter, Natalie Wallace; great-granddaughter, Charlie Mae Block; brother, Gerald Silverstein; and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bernard Block; her parents, Gertrude and Samuel Silverstein; and her brother, Nathan Silverstein.
Eleanor was an almost 50 year member of Temple Beth Tikvah and a member of many clubs, groups and organizations. She spent her career working as a librarian at The Ohio State University and retired from there at which time she began her journey traveling around the world. She enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and honoring her Jewish faith. She was thrilled that Trump was on the way out and survived to see Biden sworn in as president; something she was looking forward to.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 24 at Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, at which time she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bernie.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Congregation Beth Tikvah (bethtikvahcolumbus.org) or to Bella Care Hospice (bellacarehospice.net).
