Guido Epelbaum, 83, passed away Aug. 4, 2021. Preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Ugo and Oscar Epelbaum. Survived by his son, Scott Epelbaum; former daughter-in-law, Gina Epelbaum; granddaughters, Sophia and Allison Epelbaum, and grandson, Mike Burgoon; step-children, Brenda (David) Burgoon and Douglas (Debbie) Taylor; sister-in-law, Marilyn Epelbaum. He is also survived by his cousin, Asher (Pnina) Raz from Tel Aviv and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Guido Epelbaum was born in Milano, Italy, on Oct. 15, 1937 to Peysach and Chana Epelbaum. Guido came to Columbus in 1955 with his family. After earning his GED, he began his career as a traveling salesman and then as an interpreter opening several home improvement businesses before retiring in 2011.
Guido loved to attend the opera, read and travel. He will be remembered as a hard worker, strong, ambitious, giving and as a Holocaust survivor. Guido will be missed by Gina, his loving friend and companion, as well as his beloved chihuahua, Lucia.
Graveside service will be held Aug. 9 at New Agudas Achim Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Jewish Family Services or charity of your choice.
