Sheryl Finn Landers passed away Jan. 13, 2021.

Preceded in death by parents, Anshall and Charlotte (nee Katz) Finn. Survived by husband, Andrew Landers; brother, Arthur (Elizabeth) Finn; brother-in-law, Dr. Franklin (Audrey) Landers; niece, Amanda (Douglas) Hromco; and nephews, Andrew (Alicia) Finn and Jordan Landers.

Born and raised in Akron, Sheryl Diane Finn was named after her grandfathers, Samuel and David. A proud graduate of Buchtel High School, she also earned Bachelors and Masters degrees in elementary education from The Ohio State University.

She was a retired teacher from Columbus Public Schools, an active member of New Albany Women’s Network (NAWN), Fairfield County retired teachers association and McNeil Farms Precinct Workers Dinner. “The Queen of volunteering,” she never missed an opportunity to volunteer among her favorites are The Jefferson Lecture Series at the McCoy Center in New Albany, CAPA and Experience Columbus.

Sheryl passed away from complications of stomach cancer. Previously, she was a survivor of melanoma cancer and breast cancer. An avid fan of figure skating and ice hockey especially the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the Arthur James Cancer Center especially to Mr. Frank Collins (patient care resource manager). Thanks also to all home health care nurses and physical therapists. Most thankful to Linda Whittle and Ann Edelman for your friendship, guidance, lunches and prayers.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 17 at Green Lawn Cemetery’s Beth Shalom section.
