Matthew Brizman Marx, 55, of New Albany, died Dec. 1, 2020.

Matthew graduated from Bexley High School and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Ohio State University. Beloved professor, communicator, and instructor known for his lifetime of work in Columbus for helping young people learn and prepare for college entrance examinations. Matthew served as the coordinator of development communications for The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

He also co-operated his business, Tutoring by a College Professor, with his wife, Leslie. Previously, he served as a reporter and communications consultant for the Columbus Dispatch and was a lecturer on writing and communications in many colleges throughout Central Ohio and the Midwest area.

Matthew’s unique benevolence, understanding of others, and patience, made him a wonderful husband, father, teacher and friend to all who knew him. Matthew would want everyone to honor him by showing the same compassion for others and passion for learning that define his legacy.

Survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Leslie Mabel Marx; daughters, Libby Nadine Marx and Evelyn Shana Marx; son, Murray Ross Marx; and mother, Sylvia Schlang Marx. Preceded in death by father, Dr. Nathan Marx and father-in-law, Howard Mabel.

Graveside service were held Dec. 3 at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery in Columbus.
