The Mazal Tones, a Columbus folk-singing ensemble, will perform Chanukah music at four venues in December.

Now in their 18th year together, director Barbara Dowell, Ron Cohen, Linda Schottenstein and Barry Yaillen perform songs in Hebrew, English and Yiddish, with guitar and kazoo accompaniment.

The group is launching its Columbus holiday tour with a concert at 6:30 p.m., Dec. 4 at Kensington Place, 1001 Parkview Blvd.

They will also perform on the following dates and locations:

• 7 p.m., Dec. 11 at Creekside, 2200 Welcome Place;

• 4 p.m., Dec. 18, for Holocaust survivors at Heritage Tower, 1145 College Ave.; and

• 2:30 p.m., Dec. 22, for Hadassah Hanuka at Heritage House, 1151 College Ave.

Dowell said The Mazal Tones’ playlist is “a combination of traditional and contemporary tunes to bring in the holiday cheer and hopes for peace.”
