Fans attending The Ohio State University Buckeyes football games will be able to enjoy Barrio Tacos’ tacos and margaritas while attending games at Ohio Stadium this fall.
The Cleveland-based, build-your-own taco chain was selected by Levy Restaurants, which operates concessions at the stadium, to start serving in section 10A. The first day of service will be at the Buckeye’s first home game on Sept. 11.
The stand will offer Barrio Boxes, which include two tacos and a choice of guacamole, queso blanco, salsa roja or vegan queso and chips. The menu will also include full appetizers of chips and dips. Its 20-ounce house margaritas will be served in a plastic mason jar.
Fans can order ahead on their phones by scanning QR menu codes posted around the stadium or using the Ohio State app. They’ll get a notification when their food is read for pick-up. Walk-up ordering will also be available.
Barrio Tacos has 11 locations, one of which is at 1416 W. 5th Ave. in Columbus near Grandview Heights.
Another Columbus location is planned as the anchor eatery tenant at Ohio State’s 15th and High project. The 4,000-square-foot restaurant will be complete with 20-foot ceilings, with 1,100 additional square feet of patio space facing the student court yard planned for the project. This location, which was announced in March, has a target opening for the summer, and will be open for lunch, happy hour, dinner and late-night service.
