Some of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams locations are not reopening following temporary pandemic closures, two of which are in Central Ohio.
Located in Bexley and Powell, the two locations are permanently closed after operating for more than 10 years. The Columbus-based company released a statement saying the closures are due to expiring lease agreements.
“We’ve loved serving both the Bexley and Powell communities,” the statement said. “While this isn’t a goodbye forever, we’ve reached the end of our leases and are exploring the possibility of moving to different locations. We hope to find the perfect spots down the road so we can continue scooping for these amazing communities.”
There are still 44 shops across the United States, including six shops and two seasonal locations in Central Ohio, and one in Chagrin Falls.
