Shared in a Facebook announcement, Sassafras Bakery at 657 High St. in Worthington held its last day of business on Aug. 21 after holding its last full-day of normal business on Aug. 14.
The location opened eight years ago, serving savory and sweet pastries, sandwiches, salads, soups and drinks.
“We have worked tirelessly to hone our craft and earn your trust,” the post read, signed by owner A.J. Perry. “It has been a thrill. My personal goals and guiding principles have always been that you would experience comfort, nostalgia and magic with each bite. This always brought tremendous delight and heart-felt comfort to me. ... Your support (especially over these exceptionally challenging last 18 months) has meant absolutely everything. Our sales are on track to celebrate our best year ever and we have you to thank for that. Thank you.”
