Bexley will hold its annual July 4 festivities, beginning with a 5K at 8 a.m. and ending with fireworks at 10 p.m.

The John Barr 5K Run will start at Jeffrey Mansion, 165 N. Parkview Ave. in Bexley. Pre-registration fee is $30 and day-of registration is $35. 

The annual parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Maryland Avenue and Remington Road, continuing 2.8 miles to Fair Avenue and S. Cassingham Road. 

A community celebration will be at 6 p.m. on the front lawn of Capital University. It will feature family events, music and food. 

Lastly, fireworks will be at Capital University and will be launched from the field between College and Pleasant Ridge avenues. Several viewing areas will be available around Capital’s Campus Center off of Pleasant Ridge Avenue.

The Bexley Beat Bus will provide free transportation throughout the evening to and from the community celebration and fireworks.
