National Council of Jewish Women Columbus is accepting volunteers for its back to school store from 1 to 3 p.m. July 28 at Temple Beth Shalom, 5089 Johnstown Road in New Albany.
The store is for children from low-income families. Volunteers will serve as personal shoppers to the children, who are guaranteed to receive an outfit with clothing, socks, underwear, winter coat, hat, gloves, personal care items, backpack, a book and school supplies of their choosing.
NCJW worked with social service agencies, temples, churches and schools to identify qualifying children ages 8 to 11 whose back-to-school needs are not being met. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated. Parents or guardians are invited to a family resource room, where organizations will provide additional resources.
