The Columbus Association for the Performing Arts announced the 11 winners of their 2021 Marquee Awards on June 3.

CAPA evaluated 12 schools to determine nominees and winners at the annual awards ceremony presented by the American Electric Power Foundation. The winners are:

  • New Albany High School: Outstanding student orchestra for Smokey Joe’s Cafe.
  • Olentangy Orange High School: Backstage excellence for working.
  • Olentangy Berlin High School: Outstanding technical execution for “Little Shop of Horrors.”
  • Bishop Watterson High School: Outstanding ensemble for “Pippin.”
  • Allen DeCarlo of Pickerington High School North: Best direction for “The Marvelous Wonderettes.”
  • Andrew Dahlke of Olentangy Berlin High School: Outstanding student designer for “Little Shop of Horrors.”
  • Nick Sanchez-Zarkos of Olentangy Liberty High School: Best actor in a leading role for his portrayal of “Father in Children of Eden.”
  • Dallys Edwards of Pickerington High School North: Best actress in a leading role for her portrayal of Betty Jean in “The Marvelous Wonderettes.”
  • Zarkos and Edwards will complete a 12-day professional training intensive with theater industry professionals and compete in the 2021 Jimmy Awards on July 15.
  • Maximillian Warren of Grove City High School: Best actor in a supporting role for his portrayal of Ryan Evans in Disney’s “High School Musical."
  • Abigail Hatfield of Olentangy Liberty High School: Best actress in a supporting role for her portrayal of Yonah in “Children of Eden."
