The U.S. House on Jan. 12 approved a resolution urging Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to remove President Donald Trump with a Cabinet vote.

Prior to the vote on the resolution, Pence sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that said invoking the 25th Amendment would not be in the best interest of the nation, according to The Associated Press.

The House will be in session Jan. 13 and to vote on impeaching the president. Trump faces a single charge of "incitement of insurrection" over the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, the AP reported. He would become the only U.S. president to be impeached twice.
