I write to commend Howie Beigelman for his exceptional governmental advocacy on behalf of Ohio Jewish Communities.

Howie stepped into some big shoes upon the retirement of our beloved late Joyce Garver Keller. But this transplanted New Yorker has made his way, establishing professional relationships with leaders across our diverse state, especially with Gov. Mike DeWine, former Gov. John R. Kasich and policymakers on both sides of the aisle.

The result is unprecedented legislative funding to support the security needs of the Jewish people in all parts of this state. Howie’s ability and political savvy in coalition building is unprecedented and, apropos, he heaps praise on many other individuals and groups who have stood with him to achieve this objective.

In the end, however, it is all about one thing: leadership. Howie personifies leadership and we are all better off for his efforts.
